640 Meisel Drive by Summit County Mountain Retreats

The rental company offered a small discount after our stay, but only if I signed a form agreeing not to post negative reviews. The place also wasn’t as advertised: it was listed as four bedrooms, but there were only three, plus a pullout couch on a public landing. Several advertised things were broken or unusable. The fireplace didn’t work, and the oven smoked so badly when switched on that we couldn’t use it. The refrigerator was broken; they brought a tiny replacement, then added a second one, but together they still weren’t the size of a normal fridge. The pullout was supposed to have a memory foam topper, but it didn’t. The hot tub was filthy when we arrived. It was too dirty to use again just 12 hours after cleaning, and people who used it developed hot tub folliculitis. There were also beer cans and rubbish around it when we got there. The rental company wasn’t helpful.

We’ve rented this same condo for the fifth year in a row and keep coming back. The kids have sleds in the garage, the private hot tub is lovely, and having a washer and dryer is a real plus. Check-in and checkout are easy, too. The only time we needed a repair was when the dryer needed fixing, and they came out quickly. We’ll definitely keep using SCMR for our family ski trips.

We didn’t need to contact management once because everything worked from the start. The condo had plenty of room for our family of five, with a well-equipped kitchen, top-notch appliances, smart TVs, and an outdoor grill. The master bedroom and bathroom were especially spacious, and having an indoor parking spot was very convenient. We were there just before Thanksgiving and had a great time. The slopes at Keystone are about 1-2 minutes away, the main grocery store is around 6-8 minutes away, and Breck is less than 20 minutes away. We’ll book it again next time.

The mountain views from this home are spectacular, and it’s so convenient for River Run Village and the lifts. Our family, from grandparents to kids, had plenty of space. Everyone could gather and pitch in in the kitchen, and the kids had a blast with ping pong and foosball. We enjoyed the hot tub every day after skiing. Summit County Mountain Retreats provided great customer service from booking through the stay. We hope to come back.
