Baymont by Wyndham Keystone Near Mt. Rushmore

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The hotel room was very nice and spacious, though the bathroom was so small that there wasn’t much room for more than one person. Breakfast stayed the same all three days, and the dining area got overwhelming pretty quickly.

The mattress was firm, just how we like it, and the two-night price for a standard king was an amazing deal. The hotel is clearly older, but still really nice. The staff were friendly and eager to help. I have no complaints and would absolutely stay again if I’m in the area.

Check-in was quick and easy, and our double Queen suite had plenty of space. The cleaning, though, was atrocious. There were wet chunks of something on the floor that stuck to my husband’s shoes, dust everywhere, and gross oily handprints all over the TV stand. The bathroom floor had debris on it, and there was pee in the toilet lid caps. The fridge was disgusting, and the ice machines were gross, too. The bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a diesel truck starting up. The alarm clock was black, and the gym was full of broken equipment. For what we paid, I expected to feel okay touching things in the room, but I was grossed out. I manage a hotel myself and tried to bite my tongue, but I’m never coming back.

The location made it easy to get to the sites and downtown, and our balcony had a really cool view of Mt Rushmore. The pool area was well kept, with the pool and hot tub at good temperatures. Breakfast had a good variety, and the hotel was clean, cozy, and very quiet. It felt like a home away from home and was good value for the money.
