Buffalo Lodge is in a great spot, about 200-300 yards from the River Run gondola. It isn’t ski-in or ski-out, but the distance is manageable for teens and adults. Little kids will need help. The condos are privately owned and managed by several property management companies, so the accommodations can vary a lot. We’ve had beautifully maintained, well-appointed units and others that were just okay or worse. Since I haven’t stayed in every unit, I can’t confidently give it five stars. River Run village has the usual ski village shops. For other needs, Silverthorn has a Target and Frisco has a Walmart. Beginners and families with small kids should know there’s only one green run into the River Run base area, Ina's Way. It’s easy to miss as you come down lower schoolmarm, and the intersection with River Run can be tricky. The route from Dercum's Dash may be too steep for beginners. You can download from the summit house or mid station on the gondola, which is a neat experience. I used to be a Keystone Instuctor and know the mountain and its terrain very well. Feel free to reach out with specific questions.
