Evergreen Condominiums by Vail Resorts

We spent two days at the Evergreen condos (Pines, Longleaf) for our 40th wedding anniversary, after booking through Expedia. What should have been a special stay turned into a nightmare, and we regret choosing Keystore/Vail Resorts. We'll think twice before booking there again. The condo had several basic problems. There was no WiFi or TV signal either day. After we told the manager, Comcast checked and said the room needed to be completely rewired for both services. Why that wasn't caught before we checked in is a mystery. The toilet also leaked, leaving us unable to use it for at least one night. And although Expedia listed AC as an amenity, there wasn't any in the room. The front desk blamed Expedia. There was confusion over the charges, too. The amount was $12 more than the rate Expedia showed. When I asked the front desk manager, he had no clear explanation and staff told me to contact Expedia instead of sorting it out. I was already paid in full with a zero balance, so I asked about the $200 charge. Rather than simply explain that it was for incidentals, the manager asked if I knew what “incidentals” meant. That was insulting. I'm a Navy retiree and stayed in plenty of hotels during my 30-year career. We also received conflicting checkout instructions. One staff member said to empty the trash and start the dishwasher, while the email said to leave our key cards on the counter and go. We'd mentioned when booking that it was our anniversary, which makes the whole experience especially disheartening and disappointing.
