Forest Condominiums by Vail Resorts

SCAM!!! We paid $428 for a weekend booking, then got a call from the front desk during the trip saying they needed another card because the first one worked for everything except the $70 resort fee. That seemed weird but we gave them a second card. The hotel charged $258 to it. Beware, and don't pay at the property. The hot tub was cold, which wasn't a big deal. I had reserved a room with a spiral staircase, but got a different room with the same amenities.

The walls, floors, and ceilings are so thin that the noise alone earns this place one star. It's absolutely infuriating, and I'd avoid this complex in Keystone at all costs. If it's your only choice, try for a second-floor room so you don't hear every footstep or bowel movement from the guests above. There's not much else worth saying about the condo. Even if it were spectacular, the lack of soundproofing would still leave it at one star.

It was okay until the “rolling blackouts,” which were supposed to last an hour. The power didn't come back for six hours, with the temperature at 18 degrees. None of the buildings had generator backup except the front office. My husband went there to find out what was happening after trying to call from the landline. He'd been on hold for more than 20 minutes and still hadn't reached anyone. When I asked for credit for the six hours without power, I was told, “not my problem.” The fireplace alone wasn't enough to keep the room warm. If you're considering this property, know that they have no generator backup when winter weather knocks out the power. It's tragic that the company couldn't accommodate a disabled veteran and their caregiver, even after we tried to work out an amicable solution.

The rooms were clean and cozy, and the location worked great for staying and skiing at Keystone. Highly recommend!
