The shuttle made ski days easy. Its stop is right outside between Buildings 1 and 2, and the Silver Route gets you to Mountain House Base in about 3-4 minutes. We used it every day. The condo itself was a good value and had comfortable space for five adults. It ran extremely warm inside, and it looked like the thermostat was locked, so we couldn’t turn the heat down. We switched the units off and opened the windows. Maybe the unusually warm winter played a part, but it’s something to know before you stay. The kitchen had basic starter pans, enough for simple meals, though it was missing seasonings, oil, foil, and decent thick pot holders. Still, I’d stay here again. For skiing, I recommend riding to Mountain House and taking Peru Lift to Schoolmarm. You can get to the village via Ina’s Way, or follow signs to Montezuma Express Lift for the Outback. The blue runs there are longer, less crowded, and much more enjoyable.

I’ve stayed at Montezuma 1770 five times now, and it keeps giving me the peace and inner joy I’d prayed for years ago: a quiet, beautiful mountain setting with a soft, rustic feel. I work with small and large groups of seniors, children, and school staff throughout the year through BNEW4LIFE, where our focus is reducing emotional and physical stress. It matters to me to set an example, and this place has been a blessing. When you find somewhere that works for you, there’s no reason to change, at least for now. I might explore other condos at Summer Cove someday. Time will tell. 🙏🏽🥰 Brian Thompson BNEW4LIFE

The master bedroom had a nice bathroom, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was a washer and dryer. It was clean and close to both the hot tub and elevator. A couple of remote batteries were dead and a bedroom bulb was out. The hide-a-bed couch wasn’t comfortable to sit on while watching TV. Otherwise, a great stay in a very nice room.

The location in the heart of River Run Village was perfect, and the unit was tidy. Check-in was smooth, but that’s where our good experience with SummitCove ended. The first night, the hallway outside our door reeked of weed, as if someone had smoked right there. The smell came into the unit. The building is supposed to be nonsmoking, but we had to put towels under the door and open windows in 20-degree weather. The Murphy bed was right by the entrance, so I couldn’t put my seven-year-old there to breathe that all night. My husband can’t be near that stuff for work and was furious, so he had to hide in the bedroom for the rest of the evening. I understand SummitCove may not have been able to do much about the smoking, but it made the bed unusable for us. We also couldn’t use the ski locker because its key wasn’t provided at check-in or left in the unit. I called the office, and they said they’d have a key made. It never arrived. On my next call, they said the HOA had to handle it, but it still wasn’t resolved, so we carried our gear up and down to the unit. None of the TVs were connected. My husband had to reconnect the living room cable box, and the bedroom TVs weren’t even plugged in. I had to move a dresser to reach the plugs, and the remote was missing. Luckily, I could use the Roku app on my phone.

The hot tub was nice and warm, and the gondola was just a two-minute walk away. Food and shopping were close, too. My husband and I had a wonderful stay right in the village. Keystone is our hometown mountain, and we love it. I’d definitely stay here again.
