Kihei Bay Surf #109 - Studio Br Condo

The place is simple and quaint, a basic horseshoe shaped condo complex on main South Kihei Road. Nothing spectacular, but it’ll do. People seemed pretty laid back. The pool is nice, though it feels enclosed in a small space with people’s balconies right beside it, which can feel intrusive. The hot tub is out of commission, and I’ll be curious to see how long that lasts. Parking spots are very small, and the no backing parking rule makes it even harder. There are also loud metal plates that were recently put in the road right in front of the complex. Every car going over them makes a distracting catunk, catunk sound.

The view and quiet were great, and the beach is just across the road. There aren’t many places to eat within walking distance, though, apart from an Indian restaurant.

My wife and I had a great time at Kihei Bay and Surf in Maui. The room was just the right size for a couple, and the host provided useful things for guests, like beach chairs, reusable shopping bags, and even a blender. We found it more comfortable than a resort or hotel. We booked through air bnb and would definitely book again if we vacation here.

We’ve stayed in this complex three times now. It suits us perfectly: quiet, with a pool, hot tub, and laundry. We’ve walked across the street to the Kalepolo fish pond to see the turtles and watch the sunset.
