That beach was the reason we came, and it was a great place to explore in both directions. We saw lots of turtles, and the rock wall built into the ocean made us feel comfortable with our 7-year-old swimming around. We stayed for over a week in late August. The room was a little dated, but we weren’t there for the artwork. I’d definitely recommend it and can’t wait to book again!
Menehune shores was a beautiful condo for our first visit to Maui. After doing our research, we picked this sunnier side of the island and loved the views. We’ll be back. The Indian restaurant was wonderful, and the curry was outta this world.
We’ve stayed in two units here, one really great and one definitely not, so look for an updated one. The beach is just steps away, and the Little Rock arch helps little kids with the waves. A turtle patrol lady warned people not to stand on or disturb it since it’s sacred. There are tons of sea turtles around. Keep 20 feet away, though they come up on the rock wall throughout the day and onto the beach at night.
Our condo, #403, looks out over the ocean from the patio. There’s a calm swimming spot right in front, with fish and turtles, and the sunsets behind the hill are beautiful. Each unit is individually owned and maintained. We loved the place and found it close to central life and lots of good restaurants.
We used this conveniently located place as our base for the whole island. It has a great pool with beach views, and a short walk takes you to a spot where sea turtles gather each morning. We saw several dozen every morning without going out of our way. I’d gladly stay here again.
