Punahoa Beach 201 - Direct Ocean Front, Beautiful Renovation, Split AC, Wi-fi

The private beach had sea turtles there every morning we were visiting, and there are plenty of things within walking distance, from a little store and the food truck jungle to two different parks. Punahoa condo was perfect. This is the most beautiful place in the world, and I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I’ll come back every year till I die.

Uninterrupted sunsets over the ocean were my favourite part of this secret little place. It was a wonderful surprise, and we had an excellent stay we’ll never forget. Zaldy was friendly and attentive. Mahalo nui loa, Zaldy, a hui hou.

This was by far the least professional Airbnb experience I’ve had, or really anywhere. I’ve stayed at dozens of Airbnbs in the U.S. and Europe and never had a negative interaction before this one. Communication was confusing and unprofessional from start to finish. The hosts said they provided “clear instructions,” but their messages were contradictory and disorganized, and sometimes condescending. I politely asked about early check-in, which the house rules clearly list as an option. The host called to discuss it and was perfectly pleasant, so the review they wrote about us feels retaliatory and entirely fabricated. My only other message asked whether the loud, unannounced construction directly overhead would go on all day. I got no reply. We did what checkout instructions asked: took out the trash, piled the towels, and started the dishwasher. Getting a slanderous review full of exaggerations and false claims afterward was incredibly disappointing. The property manager is a blatant liar. If you value honesty, privacy, and basic hospitality, I’d strongly recommend booking somewhere else.

Quiet and peaceful, the Punahoa is a gem for relaxing and enjoying all Maui has to offer. It’s right on the beach, with all the amenities close by.
