Pierhouse Bed & Breakfast

The location was good, and I appreciated having a parking spot. Our bedroom was a decent size, with a big balcony overlooking the beach and pool, but it smelled strongly of mildew too. The whole place had that smell, which was especially concerning for me because I have asthma. It also looked as though it may have flooded at some point. Breakfast was mediocre, just a kids' breakfast, and what they left felt cheap and unhealthy. We never saw the owners. We noticed a couple once but couldn’t tell if they were the owners. We met some nice guests and talked about how odd it was not to see anyone at breakfast. We’re used to owners being around and preparing a proper breakfast, though we don’t mind if that’s not offered. The place needs a major cleanup, renovation, and repairs, and we won’t be back.

We loved how close the beach access was, and it was easy to walk there. The pool was very clean, sized for a few people to stand around in, not for swimming laps. Inside, the Wi-Fi worked well, and there were plenty of towels. We stayed in the Deckside Room, and the website pictures matched what we found. Mike, the owner, lives on the third floor; we crossed paths briefly a few times, and he was friendly and relaxed. We brought our dog and appreciated how dog friendly the place is. Breakfast was simple but convenient, and the happy hour with wine, string cheese, and crackers was a lovely extra. The weather wasn’t always great, but we still had a wonderful stay and would recommend it. We’re looking forward to coming back. Thanks mike!

The room was cute and the location was good, and the house seemed welcoming, but the stay fell far short. It was hot and humid when we arrived, and there was no air-conditioning or window screens. At least there was a fan. A couple in another room, as far as we could tell, fought and slammed doors from around 9 pm until after 3 am. Then we heard glass smashing, and it kept going. There was no phone number in the room or on the check-in sheet to report it. We won’t stay here again. We definitely stayed here on 4/29. Since you don’t know what was going on, you can ask your cleaning lady and her daughter, who were cleaning up the glass at 8 am.

The location was nice, but for the price, this wasn’t worth it. The house smelled strongly of mildew, and the shower hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. There was still a bar of soap and a dirty towel in it. The owners or house managers were very rude. We paid for two rooms and the upgrade fee. I called the owner to ask what had happened with the rooms because my “baby girlfriends” weren’t explaining it to me, and I was trying to pay for the separate room myself. The owner was so rude and wouldn’t explain anything. Accusing us of theft is wild. And the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. Don’t stay here!
