Westwood Inn & Suites Kimball I 90

We paid for the reservation ahead of time, but when we arrived there was nobody at the check-in counter. We stood in the front office calling over and over, waiting for someone who seemed to be asleep to check us in. We ended up having to stay somewhere else, and the manager still wouldn't refund us. He says he has CCTV showing we weren't there, sure. We're taking it up with our credit card company. Take your money and time somewhere else, and pay attention to the poor reviews.

The key cards, ours and several others, stopped working completely after a couple of hours. The toilets barely flushed, and you had to wait about an hour between flushes. The bathroom looked like steam had been eating away at it for a century. Both beds had hair, holes, and strange stains on the sheets. The water smelled gross, and there was still blood in the freezer. I know it's pheasant season, but come on. The owners, who barely speak English, were staying in one of the rooms with a crying baby and loud Middle Eastern music. This place was disgusting and should be torn down.

The lobby carpets had about as much dirt on them as the parking lot, and there was a horrible smell just inside the entrance. In my room, the bathtub had a dirt ring that looked at least a decade old. The carpets seemed not to have been cleaned since the turn of the century. The bed sheets were so threadbare I worried they'd rip just pulling them back, and the pillow had a decorative cover instead of a pillowcase. I don't ask much of a budget hotel, but really?

At midnight on the second night, a fight broke out in the hallway. The owner seemed unable or unwilling to evict anyone, so we left and won't be back. The first night, I asked to have the TV fixed because it only showed a blue screen. The owner came, fiddled with it, said, “I dont know,” and walked out without coming back. Take your chances. A crappy decision to make at Mitel, but that's the reality of Westwood Inn.
