Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kingman by IHG

The woman who checked us in was lovely, but once we got to the room, we were basically disgusted. The deadbolt didn't work, so we could only use the latch. The carpet was filthy, so wear slippers. The shower head was awful and dripped constantly. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows and bedding had seen better days. Breakfast was okay, though we've had much better at other Holiday Inn hotels. The whole place needs a facelift.

After hours on the road in strong wind and rain, all we wanted was a shower and sleep. There was no hot water when we arrived, which was a big bummer. At least the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was the best I've seen anywhere, and the hot water worked in the morning. We'd stay again.

The place felt more like a dog hotel than anything. There was dog poop outside, no laundry room, and they wanted us to use the hotel's old, inadequate laundry room. In my opinion, it's not family-friendly. I booked through IHG, then canceled because the room was old and worn, not what I expected. I asked the man at the front desk to cancel the reservation and refund me. He said I didn't need a receipt, but I was charged $127 for a room I never stayed in. IHG never refunded me. A very bad experience.

The service has never let us down, and the rooms always meet our high standards. My family switches between this place and the Springhill next door. There are lots of things to do within walking distance. We especially like having the indoor pool when the kids come along. Breakfast is delicious, and we enjoy saying hi to the woman who runs the kitchen. Staying here made us fall in love with Kingman.
