Red Roof Inn Kingsland

We spent two nights in room 228 last weekend. The staff were wonderful, from the gentleman who checked us in to the two women who brought an extra hairdryer when ours didn't work, plus washcloths and towels since there were just two of each for four people. Even the housekeeper was kind when we overslept and checked out a few minutes late. The room was quiet and clean, including the sheets and bathroom, and the AC kept us comfortable without blowing the curtain around. The curtain did a great job blocking the light. As a group of women, we felt safe the whole time, even walking to the ice machine in the middle of the night. The property looked clean, with nobody hanging around who seemed out of place. It's in a great spot near lots of restaurants and beaches, and a good value for the price. The pool looked inviting, though we didn't use it, and breakfast seemed to have a nice selection, though we didn't eat there. There was a big hole in one wall, and the door looked like it had been broken down by police and was hard to open from either side. The beds weren't comfortable, though maybe I'm just used to my full memory foam bed at home. The blankets were very thin, so bring one from home or ask for extras at check-in. None of that was a dealbreaker for us at a budget motel. The staff deserve a raise, and we'd stay again for another beach trip.

We were in the room for two minutes before we saw how bad it was and had to leave. There were obvious bodily stains all over the bed, and nothing had been cleaned. We tried several times to get a refund, but couldn't. It's unsanitary. I wish I could give zero stars, and we'll contact Red Roof corporate. This place shouldn't be in business.

It was comfortable and we enjoyed the stay, aside from a few broken things. The bathroom door wouldn't shut, there was no ice bucket, and the room phone was broken so I couldn't even pick it up.

I felt absolutely sick after spending a night here and won't come back. The room was filthy, with a nasty couch that needs to be burned, and there was even a dehumidifier in the room. Breakfast was practically nonexistent. The woman at the front desk was nice and helpful, though.
