Days Inn Kirksville

My son and I were in town for Special Olympics, and this stay was awful. The pool was empty, the ice machine didn’t work, and there was no way to get ice water. Our room toilet seat was dirty and there was no soap, so we used the gross lobby restroom instead. At check-in, the attendant said breakfast started at 6:30, but what was offered wasn’t like the picture at all, just pop tarts and bad juice. They also charged $100 for incidentals and said the refund would take seven days. Ridiculous. Don’t stay here.

The bed and shower were decent, and the price was really good, so the value felt about right. The place was a bit rough around the edges. I don’t think the pool or hot tub have worked for a long time, so I wouldn’t count on using them.

My stay was quiet and peaceful, and the room was clean with a fridge and microwave. The rate was great, breakfast was yummy, and the staff were kind and courteous. Good customer service is what sets this location apart. It’s a legacy hotel, and the new owners are working hard to renovate the expansive property. Just keep in mind this is a Days Inn, not a luxury spa hotel.

I was there for a month because everything in Macon Missouri was booked. I called about a room and was quoted $88.00 a night, but at check-in they charged me $188.00 and said $100.00 would be refunded at checkout. That never happened. $188.00 a night for a hole.
