Clarion Inn & Suites Kissimmee-Lake Buena Vista South

I was only there for one night, thankfully. The room was awful: the sink was clogged, the tub needed something to prevent slipping, and the phone was hanging off the wall. The refrigerator was cold but so noisy it kept us from sleeping. There was a large 32-inch flat-screen TV, which seemed tiny to me. The lobby was disgusting, and the pictures were misleading. Doors kept slamming, and they said the door closer couldn't be changed. At check-in, we were told there'd be no eggs or bacon for breakfast, just a continental spread. What we got was toast, muffins, waffles, and coffee, despite the claim that this was the best hotel breakfast buffet in Orlando.

We stayed over the weekend for my son's soccer tournament at Disney, choosing the hotel because it's about 12 minutes from the parks. The room phone didn't work, the refrigerator made a horrible racket, and the old TV had a poor picture. The room and common areas were extremely dirty. Breakfast was just waffles and toast, and the woman in the kitchen had a bad attitude. The front desk staff weren't friendly either. This place wasn't worth the money for us. I'd rather pay a little more or stay farther away, and I won't come back.

I booked Clarion Inn & Suites Kissimmee-Lake Buena Vista South through Expedia, then realized within ten minutes that mandatory fees, which hadn't been clearly disclosed, made the total much higher than expected and more than I could afford. I contacted the hotel right away to cancel, but they refused to refund me. There was no grace period or effort to find a solution. The hotel didn't respond properly to me and didn't cooperate with Expedia when I tried to resolve it there. They kept the payment after I explained that I couldn't manage the unexpected fees, leaving my family and me in a stressful position. As a parent traveling with family, it felt deceptive and predatory. If the full price had been clear, I never would have booked. In my experience, they showed no flexibility and poor communication, and the business practices seemed questionable. I'd tell anyone considering a stay to ask for a full list of mandatory fees before booking, get it in writing, and not assume the listed price is the final total. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The hot tub wasn't working, though that wasn't a big deal for us. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the front desk lady was really kind. Breakfast was decent, and the location was fairly easy to navigate.
