Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Maingate Central

They charge $9.95 a night for amenities and another $3.95 a night as a Covid-19 fee. I couldn't tell what amenities were included, and in 2026 I don't understand a Covid charge. When we arrived late, the lobby was locked and we had to ring for entry, with a strong weed smell inside. The parking lot had lots of trash and debris, and the stair rails were sticky. Our sheets were stained, the towels felt rough, and the smoke detector began chirping in the morning.

They kept my $50 deposit for services they never provided, and those charges weren't in the hotel policies. The room was never cleaned, the bathroom smelled awful, the blankets weren't clean, and there were cockroaches under the refrigerator. Their “included breakfast” was only cereal, which felt misleading. I had a very bad stay and wouldn't recommend this place. Spend a little more and book somewhere else. 👎

Roaches were all over the room, and by morning we had bed bug bites and could see them crawling on us. The walls had peeling paint and the room smelled like someone had just smoked weed in it. The shower didn't work, though its faucet dripped all night. The old, loud air conditioner also didn't work properly.

We didn't feel safe here. There were homeless people hanging around, and noise continued all night. The beds were very old and uncomfortable. This is a bad location, and I'd recommend paying extra for somewhere safer. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
