Encantada Resort Vacation Townhomes by IDILIQ

The rooms were nice, but the hot tub was the main reason I booked this resort, probably 90% of the reason, and it was a letdown. It had four seats and around 25 jets, but only two jets worked. One of those came completely off, and the working jets had very little power. I should probably have called the clubhouse and asked to move to another home, but I stuck it out. What if a family booked a four-seat tub and only two jets in one seat worked? The tub just wasn't what I booked for.

The space and rooms were a good value, but service was the reason for my low rating. There was no staff on site to help, and the number they gave me reached “the front desk.” Sinks and toilets weren't working, there were lizards and frogs in the unit and rooms, and they ran over my kids. We also had TV and shower problems, a hose that kept spraying the wall by the pool, and cockroaches. The pool had no safety gates, even though toddlers can open doors, which should be addressed at a family vacation spot. I made five calls over four more days, but nobody came to fix anything. The supervisor even blamed me for some of the problems. There's a lot to sort out before the value is enough to make me stay again.

The townhouse was terrible, and repair attempts took too long and didn't solve the problems. The dryer and cooktop were broken, some electrical outlets didn't work, and the door code wouldn't lock the door. When staff couldn't fix the code, the agent gave me the master code for all units, which also opened other units' doors. I raised the security issue and was dismissed, so I chose to leave early. This place is not safe. Do not stay here.

The location worked well for Disney, about a 10-minute drive to Animal Kingdom and 15 minutes to the other parks. Our three-bedroom condo, Unit 8519 BLL, appeared to be privately owned and rented out all the time. It was mostly clean, and the small screened backyard pool was a good size. The twin beds seemed fairly new, but the king and queen beds need replacing. They were very uncomfortable, and the box springs squeaked whenever we moved, waking the person beside us. It took half the week to get used to them. The downstairs furniture was old, worn, and uncomfortable; the dining set was also old, though not too bad. The kitchen was sparsely stocked, with flimsy cooking utensils that should be upgraded beyond dollar-store quality. There were no mixing bowls or dish towels, and not enough dishwasher detergent. We bought a frying pan because the one there was meant to be nonstick, but its surface was mostly scratched and unusable. Only the master bath had a fresh toilet roll. The other two had half rolls, with no replacements, so we had to buy more. The master bathroom was okay, but the other upstairs bathroom needs renovation. Cracked floor tiles moved underfoot in front of the toilet and shower, where you couldn't avoid stepping, so we put a towel down to prevent anyone getting hurt. We hadn't asked for the pool heater to be turned on, but maintenance switched it on while we were out. It didn't cycle properly and heated the water so much we couldn't put our hands in. We messaged them, and within an hour a man came to look. He was shocked, quickly pulled his hand from the water, and said he'd never seen anything like it before shutting the unit off. Two days later we could use the pool, but it was still hotter than a jacuzzi. I wouldn't recommend this particular unit unless all these issues were fixed.
