Flamingo Express Hotel

We arrived at 5 after traffic and the other things we had to do, and by the time we got to the kids’ slides at 5:30, that area was closing at 6. It doesn’t open again until after checkout, which is super early. The kids’ area is the only reason to stay at this dirty, cheap-azz hotel. They draw you in and then cut services for no reason. Spend a little more for a better hotel in a better area, with kids’ services that are open.

The hotel rooms were poor, and the service has been terrible. Our kids had a great time at the park, even though one slide was out of order. The other two slides worked, and the little lazy river was fun. But the room reeked of mold or some other disgusting smell, so we left a day early. The front desk said they’d refund the last night. Since I booked through expedian, they needed to contact the hotel to confirm I could get the money back. It’s been over a week, and expedian hasn’t answered, and neither has the hotel. I’ve called every day for a week and can’t get anyone to pick up. At first we weren’t too bothered because they said they’d refund the final day, but now I can’t reach anybody and can’t get the refund. I’m beyond frustrated.

The price is low and breakfast is included. The main pool had plenty of space and depth, the lazy river stayed open, the hot tub was available and hot most of the time, and the arcade had lots of games. But our room was dirty, and on the first day the bottoms of my feet turned completely black from walking on the floor. The doors felt weak or broken, and the bath faucet was loose. During our week there, only one water slide opened, and then for less than an hour. The young kids’ water playground was taped off the entire time, and there were two leaks in the dining area.

I was there from 5-8 to 5-10-26 and had a 10-out-of-10 stay. I’d been a little skeptical after seeing some reviews and photos, but once I arrived and looked around, it didn’t seem bad at all. You get a great experience for the price. The room was clean and comfortable, the AC worked fine, and the water park and bar were excellent. The staff were very nice too.
