The Heritage Park Inn

We stayed three days, and nobody came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. The beds were clean and comfortable, and there was a refrigerator and TV. But room 276 had a door that wouldn’t shut completely, leaving a one-inch gap at the bottom, with no deadbolt or lock. On our first night, a couple came into our room at 6 am after the front desk gave them keys to it. There were many rooms and the complex looked only about 10% occupied, yet they still issued keys to our room.

We booked three rooms but were told only one was available. After 30 minutes of confusion, we got two keys and were told to return the next day for the third. They photocopied our IDs and credit cards without explaining why. There was no room service, and no towels came after multiple requests. Drawers still had other guests’ things, the bathroom was dirty, we saw roaches, and used linens were piled to the ceiling in a back room. The first room was filthy and humid, with unmade beds and a horrible smell. When I asked for help, I was told the front desk was gone for the night. Security eventually gave us another room after I pushed back, but it had dirty sheets, musty air, and a door handle that fell off. Someone violently smashed a car in the lot and then tried to break into our room, so we called the police. This place is a health and safety risk. We have photos of everything, and if we don’t get refunded, we’re prepared to pursue legal action. Do not stay here. This place should be shut down.

Check-in was okay, but the room was extremely hot and felt off as soon as I walked in. There was a dead cockroach at the bathroom entrance, clumps of black hair in several spots in the shower, and a crusted wash towel hanging over the shower curtain. Then I saw a live, active cockroach run along the wall into the toilet paper roll. That was it. We packed everything and went to the front desk for a refund. The guy who checked us in was extremely rude and didn’t grant one. We won’t settle for not getting our money back, but do not go here. Nasty!

The rooms were okay, and we slept well. But the atmosphere around the hotel felt creepy, with men walking around. I found it scary arriving at night like I did. Daytime was much better.
