Riviera Motel

The staff agreed to refund the second of the two nights we paid for because the WiFi wasn't working, but then charged us for that night a week later. I'm not happy about that. The walls are thin, so you hear noise outside all night. The WiFi didn't work, and there are no phones in the rooms, so you have to go to the office if you need to reach them. You even have to put a coin in the ice machine to get ice. This motel is run very poorly, and I don't recommend it.

The room smelled so strongly of something like bug spray mixed with baby powder that roach spray seemed obvious. Then I found one long black hair on my pillow and another in the sheets, so I slept with my shoes on. The only plus was that no hookers knocked during the night. We only stayed because we needed a place to sleep. The people running the motel weren't friendly, and the front desk brochure shows Riviera in its glory days back in the 70s. That may have been the last time it was properly cleaned. It wasn't the worst motel I've been in, but it was pretty bad.

I missed my flight and booked a room here in desperation. Don't be fooled by the photos, this was the worst hotel ever. The air conditioner didn't work, the blinds were broken, and there wasn't even a phone in the room. That lack of a phone says a lot to me. It reminded me of Tom Hanks in Big, talking about a raggedy hotel. I'm just grateful I survived.

I don't like having to stay so close to the attractions just to find an affordable hotel. My room was horrible. I usually clean my own room when I stay somewhere, but I was only there a short time and ended up cleaning the whole time because it was so bad.
