This is a dated, run-down motel in an area behind an abandoned restaurant, with paper-thin walls and noisy A/C. I’m not sure who rates it above two stars. I read reviews saying it had been renovated, but if putting lipstick on a pig counts as beautifying it, then I guess it looks beautiful.

The location was convenient for our short stay, and the price was affordable compared with many Orlando hotels. We spent two nights here during a weekend trip to Orlando, booking through Expedia about two to three weeks ahead. We reserved a two-bed suite, but got a room on the third floor with no elevator, which wasn’t ideal. The beds were decent, though not especially comfortable, and the shower pressure was weak. We didn’t try breakfast, but heard from others that it wasn’t very good. Check-in took around 20 minutes. I gave my name, phone number, and confirmation number, and showed the Expedia booking, but the front desk couldn’t find the reservation for a while. They even asked if I’d booked that day, though I hadn’t. Eventually they found it under my last name, which I’d already given at the start. I know systems can be odd, but the whole process felt unnecessarily awkward, and the service could have been friendlier and more welcoming, especially in a tourist area. I liked the blinds for privacy. The mini fridge, though, was hidden inside the dresser, and we forgot our food and drinks in it when we checked out. It’s a practical, affordable place if you just need somewhere to sleep and aren’t looking for anything fancy. I might stay again, but I’m not sure.

The room was roomy and had everything I needed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Hot water worked reliably, parking was right outside, and the vending machines were reasonably priced. Ms. Kathy made check-in easy, and check-out was just as efficient. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The paper-thin walls were the worst part. I could hear the man in the next room snoring while I was trying to sleep. The room itself was clean enough, though the mattress seemed old and had a deep dip where I lay. The elevator looked very shiny, but on my last ride it took so long to go up two floors that I thought I was stuck. I used the stairs after that. The ice machine was only useful for topping off my McDonald’s cup. There were lots of TV channels, but some were blacked out, and the screen would suddenly go black and show “audio only.” Strange. Pulling in didn’t inspire confidence: the office is behind an abandoned restaurant. Things got better once I was there. Parking was plentiful, and the woman at the front desk was lovely. I asked her about all the toll roads around Orlando. She tried to explain which passes worked, but I ended up more confused. As it turned out, EZ-Pass works everywhere, and that’s what I have. So, not bad overall.
