The only good thing I can say is that there were no bed bugs. The shops sell Dollar Tree products for $8 or $9, and shampoo and conditioner aren’t included beyond a tiny one-use sample. You may also have to swipe your key card more than 10 times before the door reads it. The website made the place look great, but the rooms were poorly kept. The whole building smelled like feces, or a dirty diaper, once you leave the lobby and reach the room towers. Towels had makeup or tanning lotion stains, the doorway trim was broken, and the shower rod fell on me while I was showering. The bathroom had a lot of water damage, and the curtain won’t stay closed, so it falls back and lets water spray out. The balconies sometimes felt wet even when it hadn’t rained. Chairs and carpets were stained, and there are only blinds, no curtains, on windows that look straight over the pool.
The pool and pirate ship slide are a big part of why we keep coming back, and there’s lots of room for our whole family. Staff have always been friendly and helpful, and it’s a good price close to everything. We’ve stayed here several times over the past 10 years and have always enjoyed it. The complex is large, with multiple buildings, and some are in better shape than others. We’ve had units that needed refurbishment and others that looked freshly redone, so it’s a bit of a roll of the dice. They do keep repairing and refreshing units as needed. The rooms have consistently been neat and clean, though some furniture and decor are dated. The website photos do look better in some ways: Florida sun fades outdoor decor quickly, so the pool area and pirate ship look more faded in person. We still love staying here.
The room was clean and comfortable for my family of six, and everything was great. It’s close to Universal and Disney. We hadn’t planned to spend our vacation here, but thank God we did. We’ll definitely come back when we can.
The family enjoyed the pool, and the location was close to everything. The rooms were nice and the staff friendly. A couple small things were off: there were half eaten chips in the safe, and a knife in the block had oil or butter on it. The toilet handle broke, but after I called the front desk, they sent maintenance. The main problem was the master shower water never got hot, just lukewarm at best.
For what it costs, I wouldn’t stay here again. There are nicer Orlando resorts for about the same price, and I wanted to check out early, but Expedia wouldn’t let me since I’d booked through them. That made an already frustrating stay worse. The property felt neglected and badly outdated, and it needs a full renovation. Our room smelled strange when we walked in, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. The floors were dirty, bathrooms poorly maintained, shower heads filthy, and fans covered in thick dust. The couch was in terrible shape, with springs sticking out, so it was uncomfortable and unsafe to sit on. I travel to Orlando often and stay at plenty of hotels and resorts, and this was one of my most disappointing stays.
