Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Knightdale Raleigh

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, and a great location. The bed, though, felt like it was made from solid granite. Sleeping on it was less like resting and more like trying out for a fossil. Every morning I wasn't sure if I'd slept or just lain there thinking about my life choices. If you like a mattress that hugs you, this may not be your place. If you want one that challenges your spine and builds character, congratulations, you've found your sanctuary. I'd absolutely stay again, but I'd bring my own mattress topper and maybe a chiropractor.

The rooms are roomy, and I really like how central the hotel is in Knightdale. Jamaal at the front desk was especially helpful, professional, and good at his job. We appreciated having him there and wanted his supervisor to know.

I had to go elsewhere, so I can't comment on the room. Even though I arrived well after 4, they said there were no rooms ready and couldn't tell me when one might be available because they were short-staffed. The counter employees seemed untrained and out of their depth, and their attitude made the situation worse. They also tried to involve an off-duty police officer who wasn't in his jurisdiction, perhaps a friend of theirs, to question my wife. She was outside and hadn't even entered the building. When I returned to the car, the officer turned and ran, apparently aware he was out of his jurisdiction. I've stayed here before and probably will again, but uninterested, poorly trained employees should remember that customers have choices. I hope Hilton realizes this person isn't good for the business or its guests. Unbelievably poor experience.

The breakfast was awesome, and the woman running it was so sweet and did a great job. The plaza has restaurants and stores within walking distance, which was convenient during my week of work training. One day there was an investigation in a nearby room, with crime scene tape and everything. Also, my bed smelled strongly of urine, but CJ was helpful and moved me to another room right away.
