The old man at the counter was kind and clearly trying his best, but the place felt damp, broken, and sketchy, almost like an abandoned hotel being rented out. My key cards wouldn’t work, so late at night I had the guy up front let me into the room and lock me in. They upgraded me to a room with a Jacuzzi, then said the Jacuzzi didn’t work, so I’m guessing the other room wasn’t livable. I also had to sign the card machine, the receipt, and a digital pad for the same charge. Not sure what that was about. I don’t know how anyone is giving this place a good review.

I stayed at Astoria inn 10 years ago, and the place has changed. They’ve remodeled, the room was clean, and the girl at the front desk was nice. It’s the only clean, decent hotel in Knox. I recommend it.

This is one of the better hotels I’ve stayed in. The gentleman and the girl at the front desk were a big help when I locked my keys in my car. They tried to get them out before I had to call someone.

They were able to take care of a few special requests for my mom and me when we stayed here. The staff mentioned the earlier negative reviews and said they’d made updates in response, though I can’t remember their exact wording. I’d gladly stay here again and recommend it.
