While we were asleep, another guest was let into our room because they had been assigned our room number. That was a serious safety and security failure. I reported it to the front desk the next morning and was told it would be escalated and dealt with. More than a week later, I still haven't heard anything from the team here.

Breakfast had something for both sweet and savory tastes, from pancakes and pastries to eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, tea, and coffee. The pool was warm, and our swimsuits didn't smell like chlorine the next day, which we loved. You might hear some highway noise, though.

The indoor pool and workout center are nice to have, and the location is handy for restaurants and shopping. Rooms are basic but clean. Just know I-40 is really close and busy all night, so traffic sounds may be part of your sleep.

The beds felt like they were sitting on cardboard frames. They creaked whenever we moved and sometimes sounded like they might give way underneath us. Then the trash truck showed up at 4:26 a.m., banging around for about five minutes and waking everyone I spoke with at breakfast. The hotel needs to get its waste removal company under control. Unless you want to be up at 4:30, I'd pass. I've stayed at some wonderful Holiday Inn’s, but this one is off my list.

The night and morning staff were both wonderful. The woman working at night handled what I needed right away, and the morning team was attentive and receptive. They even followed my preferences, and all the products were filled right to the top. One of the best IHG stays I've had. They got everything right, thank you!
