Red Roof Inn & Suites Knoxville East

We've stayed here twice with a big group, first 5 adults and 2 kids, then 6 adults and 3 children. We rented 3 rooms each time, and on the latest trip got a fourth so my mother in law could have some peace away from the kids. The staff were kind and brought us towels, toilet paper, coffee, or whatever else we needed. It stayed decently quiet and calm, and bringing our dog last time caused no problems at all. The bed is a little uncomfortable, but we were happy overall and plan to return.

At around 6AM on checkout day, I woke to what I believe was a long-term resident shouting, 'you cheated on me' at someone in the room. I got up, showered, and left, and by then another person was in there yelling at him. The room also smelled like wet dog and dog food, and I spent my two nights sneezing. I didn't know the chain had gone pet friendly when I booked. That's fine for people with pets, but not for someone with allergies. As a former dog and cat owner, I don't think cleaning after a dog makes a room clean. I'd have opened the windows, but both latches were broken, intentionally or not. I've lost faith in the Red Roof brand and would avoid this location given the second issue. Keeping it classy Red Roof.

The staff were friendly and made check-in easy. The room was clean and well equipped, and I liked the convenient location, low price, and indoor pool. I'll definitely stay here again.

Both the evening and morning desk attendants were courteous and friendly. The room seemed clean, but we found a cockroach in it. I hope Red Roof deals with the roach problem. Hopefully we didn't bring bed bugs home from vacation too.
