We found this place along the Natchez Trace while riding a motorcycle, and parking was great for the bike. The old house is amazing and authentic, with a real step-back-in-time feeling. It was easy to find, and the town is so quiet that you shouldn't expect a lively Tuesday night out. That quiet is part of its charm. I especially enjoyed sitting on the covered porch swing and listening to the rain.

I like staying at bed and breakfasts because each one has its own character, but I've never come across anything quite this unique. We had booked three rooms, yet when we arrived there was only one room key, and we never got a confirmation email. We tried every number we could find, including the one for the "Innkeeper," and waited more than 30 minutes before leaving for Houston Ms, where we found excellent accommodations. After waiting over an hour, I texted the numbers I'd called to cancel the reservations. Three hours later, the "Innkeeper" called and said they couldn't cancel them.

Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared by a very friendly and helpful woman, and we enjoyed sharing the table with our housemates, who happened to be world-class cyclists. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and immaculate. Our children had lovely flowers delivered to our room, and Larry and everyone involved helped make the stay such a pleasurable experience. We couldn't have asked for more.

Kenyatta's breakfast is amazing. The accommodations are beautiful, in a lovely town, and it's an easy walk to courthouse square. The place is also easy to reach from the Trace, and there's a locked shed for bikes.

We had to leave early to get ahead of heavy rain after a storm came through the morning before our last night. Maple Inn held to its 48-hour cancellation rule and charged us the full amount for that night, even though we were cycling. They reminded me of the policy, which I already knew, and wouldn't make an exception for the weather. That's strange for a place cycle enthusiasts might choose. We were rushing to beat the rain and didn't even get breakfast. If you're cycling or motorcycling, I'd look elsewhere for somewhere with a 24-hour cancellation policy. Also, on a Sunday night, hardly anything in Kosciusko is open besides the local Walmart.
