The tents, kayaking, and horseback riding made for an unbelievable trip. From the moment we arrived, everything we saw felt like a dream, almost like being in a movie. The service was 💯% royal. Everyone was kind, fun, and well mannered, like friends we hadn’t seen in ages. We’re definitely going back.

The location is beautiful, and the service was excellent. Renovations are underway, the resort could use some TLC, and the restaurant is no longer open. It’s an easy, ready-to-go glamping setup, though, so bring your own food and drinks, plus what you need to start a fire for grilling. The safari tents have fans and portable air conditioners, which are enough at night. They get hot during the day, so plan for that.

Justin was really attentive, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The pasta, calamari, and garlic knots were so good. I’m already looking forward to trying a slice of their pizza at lunch.

Our Scout troops spent a night primitive camping here, and we were glad to have proper restrooms and showers on site. There was plenty to do, from fishing and horseback riding to wandering the grounds and watching wildlife. The blue ponds and sunset views over the lake were beautiful, and even the old buildings reclaimed by nature felt magical. What a gem in the heart of the Valley. I only wish I’d discovered it sooner.

Waking up to nature sounds and spotting wildlife everywhere made the stay especially lovely. Our daughter had the wedding of her dreams at Rancho El Charco, and they met all our expectations. Everything was amazing, from the lodge stay to the ceremony and reception. Truly beautiful.
