We didn't actually stay here, so I didn't rate the hotel itself. We have stayed at several Hampton Inn locations and haven't had problems. While we were traveling, the manager and a young woman at the front desk let us use the dining area and Wi-Fi for an important telehealth appointment with a specialist. I appreciated their understanding of our situation.

Friendly service, decent basic rooms, and a basic breakfast made this a good and safe place to stay, especially for a small town. Just keep your expectations realistic if you're hoping for a four- or five-star hotel 😀

The staff went way beyond what was needed to accommodate our block of rooms for an in-town tournament. The hotel has been renovated recently and looks great. I'd recommend the Hampton in La Junta without hesitation.

Luke made check-in easy, and the rooms were nice. Aside from that, the one-night stay was pleasant enough, but the way two employees acted at 6 a.m. was very unprofessional. They were loudly debating whether God is a woman or a man and what race HE is, and one employee laughed obnoxiously. Then she asked someone if he was listening to gospel music and said it was fine for him to listen to his music. Those conversations belong outside work or on a break. Guests are there for all sorts of reasons and want some peace and quiet. Making people uncomfortable shows a lack of compassion, empathy, and professionalism.

We got what we needed for the night. The room was nice, and the location was fine. An occasional train went by, but thankfully not in the morning. Check-in was quick and trouble-free, and the woman who helped us was super nice. With so many people traveling on tight schedules these days, easy, friendly service makes a big difference.
