After many nights here, I can say the whole team has made my extended stays a great experience. Josh, the manager, listens and does his best to handle reasonable requests, and makes sure you get good service throughout your stay. The front desk and cleaning staff have all been welcoming and respectful of my privacy. I’ve met the housekeeping team during my longer visits, and the women do their work to a high standard while making sure I have what I need. From the moment you check in, you’re welcomed like you’ve just come home after being away for days. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have the basic amenities. Thanks to everyone at Days Inn & Suites La Mesa\SDSU, from the front desk to housekeeping, for all you’ve done during my stays. I look forward to coming back. Truth, Grant Harlow Pickett
The one change I’d make is moving the bedroom AC. It’s in the living room, so the bedroom got a bit warm at night, though that barely affected my stay. Apart from that, this was a really comfortable visit, and I’d recommend the location if you’re in the area. I’m here often, so it may become my regular spot. The King room was huge, with a great layout: a living room with a 55" TV, a hall with the bathroom off to one side, and another 55" TV in the bedroom. The bed was big and comfortable, and we couldn’t hear noise from other guests. I was pleasantly surprised after a terrible stay at another Days Inn by Wyndham a month earlier. The woman who handled my reservation seemed to be learning the job, but she did well. At checkout, the man at the counter, who I assume was a manager, was very courteous and asked how they’d done and whether we’d had a good night. That kind of service made it clear that management cares about this location. Thank you, Days Inn by Wyndham at SDSU!
I stayed for about three days last week and had a pleasant visit. The room was clean, and the front desk guys were very helpful. I used the hot tub a couple of times, and it was pretty clean. The housekeeper checked in on me once and brought fresh towels.
The renovations look good, and I liked having separate areas for sitting and sleeping, with clean hard floors instead of dirty carpet. There’s no bedroom door or AC where you sleep, but the living room AC works well. We bought giant pillows, basically dog beds, at the 99cent and up store down the street for $12.99 so the kids and dogs could sit and lie on the floor. I was very happy with the upgrades, and the ice machine worked.
It wasn’t a great stay, though the price was good and I could book at the last minute. I was picking my daughter up from the hospital and heading home the next day, so we just needed somewhere to sleep. The outside was well kept, there’s a kitchenette if you need one, and the room had no carpet. Front desk service was okay, but I didn’t feel welcomed. I wish I had a better review to give. Check for damage because they charge a deposit. My window curtains were ripped like Wolverine had been there, and I reported it right away.
