La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham La Verkin-Gateway to Zion

It’s about a 35-minute drive to Zion National Park, but closer to Las Vegas if that’s where you need to fly out. The price was more reasonable than hotels in Springdale. This is a decent mid-range place. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and late checkout was a nice bonus. It’s a little dated, though, and breakfast wasn’t great.

The hospitality here was incredible, and the place was clean. Kimberly at the front desk made sure we had everything we needed. Staff like her are hard to find, and she deserves recognition for doing such a good job.

The doors were my one complaint. They have magnetic metal stops that grab the door with a loud bang even if you open it gently. It was especially annoying with the bathroom door in the middle of the night. Aside from that, this was the best of the six hotels my friend and I stayed at on our trip for Matt’s off road games, though also the most expensive. Given hotel prices in the area, I still think it was good value. It’s a fantastic new hotel near Hurricane and Zion, with a large room, nice beds, all the amenities, and an excellent bathroom and shower. We’d had terrible luck with showers at the other hotels. The continental breakfast had plenty of choices and was kept well stocked.

The pool and jacuzzi were clean and well cared for, and the room was spacious and very clean too. Breakfast was decent, nothing special, but I enjoyed it. I had a good stay and would consider coming back.
