I have celiac disease, so I’m usually stuck eating burgers without a bun, which isn’t much fun. Here the kitchen brought me a gluten-free bun without me even having to ask. I was so excited, it made my day. I also met Chef Trent, the younger one, who mentioned there are two when I asked his name, lol. He was really friendly when we chatted. I was here for an event and had a really good time. The rooms were nice and pretty comfy for the price. I’d definitely come back, especially for the burger.

We live about 2 miles away, but my son had such a good time for his 11th birthday that he’s already asking when we can come back. The kids loved swimming, and the staff seemed used to having kids around, which made things easy. The lobby was a nice place to hang out, and the happy hour drinks and snacks were great. Breakfast was good, too. Our room was clean, and the hotel was clean and well kept considering how many people stay there. My only complaint was the temperature control, like in most hotels. It seemed to blast either AC or heat, and we couldn’t quite figure it out. We had a great stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Omaha La Vista Hotel & Conference Center last night and would definitely return.

I come here yearly for work. The rooms are spacious, and the made-to-order omelets and breakfast fruit are pretty good, though the other breakfast foods taste like the lowest grade Sysco food, which seems common with free hotel breakfasts. Happy hour is a good perk. There are decent food options nearby, too. I’m here in winter, when things are slower and the price works for my budget. In summer, it’s too expensive, and rates seem to shift with local events. Some parts of the rooms feel dated, which is surprising given how often chains are supposed to update things. Restaurant staff sometimes struggle with requests or forget you’re there, at least in winter, so I try to sit at the bar. Jeremiah is usually on top of things and remembers your drink if you come back on other nights. My biggest gripe is paying for parking through a QR code. From an IT standpoint, it screams unsafe, and it’s also a hassle from an accessibility standpoint. On a business trip, the last thing I want at check-in is to navigate a janky website to pay. Just attach the charge to the room or don’t charge. I’ve told our travel planning service we may avoid this hotel in future. I’d consider raising my review if they changed the parking setup.

The front desk staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They give you vouchers for “complimentary” drinks and breakfast, which sounds like a nice perk, but it’s a strange stay overall. The breakfast was disappointing, with eggs I’ve had better at a Days Inn. The “free” happy hour drinks are limited to the cheapest options and only available at the breakfast bar area. The woman working there was wonderful and incredibly kind. She deserves credit for comforting guests who realize what the vouchers actually get them. The hotel bar was a different story. The bartender seemed miserable, and every question or order felt like an inconvenience. I’m usually a great tipper, but basic politeness shouldn’t feel optional. You can’t take drinks out to the patio, either. Just let us enjoy our beers outside in the night air. At one point, someone offered to buy a round for people at the bar, and the bartender acted annoyed because he’d just opened another customer’s beer. His frustration was hard to miss. He seems deeply unhappy, and hospitality may not suit him. You also have to pay for parking, even though the hotel already costs more than several nearby places. The rooms look like nothing has been updated in years. A bottle of water costs $6, and the lobby shop has things for about 5x what they cost at the gas station down the road. There isn’t silverware in the room, either. The friendly front desk staff were the only thing that kept the stay from feeling like a complete bait-and-switch.

Bob was a gem at check-in, and the breakfast ladies were kind and hospitable throughout my four-day stay. Housekeeping and the banquet staff were wonderful and attentive while running our event. There are eateries and bowling next door, too. Absolutely wonderful hotel and staff.
