The breakfast was decent and the staff were pleasant, but the condition of the room made this a very poor stay. There was a lasting odor, a cracked sink, a microwave stuck in demo mode, and crushed pretzels inside the AC unit. The refrigerator hummed all night. The floors looked so dirty that we bought slippers, and we had to open the window because the smell was so strong. When the AC or heat kicked on, there was also a faint urine smell. The outside and entrance needed regular cleaning too, with litter around the parking lot and debris tracked across the entrance floor. Laundry was another problem: the washer worked, but after spending $6 and drying one load twice, most of our clothes still had to air-dry in the room. The pool was okay, though the Jacuzzi smelled awful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you really have no other choice.

The staff were the best part of our stay. Everyone was helpful and friendly, smiling and greeting us, which felt refreshing after seeing so many hotel workers just go through the motions. The place was clean and safe, the beds were comfortable, and the shower got hot. It works if you want a basic room and to save money, but we’d spend more next time for better quality and breakfast. We switched rooms after the first TV’s remote wouldn’t adjust the volume, it had no buttons, and it wouldn’t turn off unless unplugged. That room was at the end of the hall by the freeway, and the noise carried all night. The replacement room had a tiny TV and looked pieced together from renovation leftovers. Its shower and furniture were cheap and basic, and the small pillows were in short supply. The free breakfast wasn’t good either. The eggs and sausage tasted artificial and cheap. La Quinta used to be our go-to, but the quality seems to have slipped in recent years. This one cost less than other options farther up the freeway, and we wish we’d chosen one of those.

We love this hotel. The affordable price, excellent breakfast, and amazing front desk staff are all big pluses. The rooms could use some improvement, especially the bathrooms, but otherwise it’s great.

I used to stay here once or twice a month, but they just took $50 from me with no email or explanation. I only found out why after calling, and got a lame excuse about extra room cleaning. I’m someone who cleans up before leaving and tips housekeeping when I can. I’m so disappointed and mad. After this BS, I’ll stay somewhere else. Matthew Raub
