The outdoor chairs and hammocks make this a charming spot to relax when the weather is warm. But there were several problems during our stay. The fire alarm was chirping when we arrived, and after calling and emailing the owner, we heard nothing for seven hours. My husband eventually had to stand on a chair and remove it so we could sleep. The instructions mentioned taking canoes onto the lake, which made it sound like the water was accessible. It was so low that we couldn't get close to it, and had to leave the property just to see the lake. I know the owner can't control the water level, but it has been low for a while, so advertising lake access isn't accurate. Breakfast was also mentioned in the listing, but none was served, and nobody told us anything about it. The owner can control how the property is described and how quickly problems are handled. We weren't impressed. This place has seen better days.

Lake Travis was more than 50 feet below normal, so reaching the water meant a bit of a hike, and we were disappointed the canoes weren't there. Still, the place itself was clean and peaceful. We saw lots of deer, and it was easy to get to lake attractions like the Oasis, with downtown Austin about 30 minutes away. Our unit had two bedrooms, a roomy living area, and a cute kitchenette with complimentary coffee and mugs. The bed was comfortable, and the outdoor space had plenty of seats and hammocks. We hardly saw anyone else staying there, which made it feel pleasantly secluded. We'd come back.

The hosts were incredibly kind, and the place had charming decor, lots of privacy, and a very clean, comfortable bed. It was quiet but still close to everything, with a grocery store less than five minutes away. The property reminded me of parts of southern France, and I found the landscape really inspiring. The lakeside location felt magical. One of my best trips, and I recommend it.

We spent my 30th birthday weekend at The Cove and had such a good time. On the first day we went wake surfing, and we spent the last day kayaking and hanging out by the lake. We also made a bonfire each night. It's a beautiful place, and we'd definitely recommend it for a fun getaway.

A much-needed weekend away. We spent time relaxing in the hammocks, and the lake was easy to get to. The evenings outside were just right, with fire pits and live music drifting over from a bar across the lake. It's a tucked-away retreat, and we'll be back.
