La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham LaGrange / I-85

We were on our way home and stopped for some rest, but it turned into a restless night. The TV in the first room wouldn't work, so they moved us. The next room was warm, and the AC ran fine for a couple of hours before it started making a loud noise and woke us up. I had to unplug it to shut it off. Then we woke up hot again, and I was up by 4:45 a.m. The man at the desk that night was awesome. The morning woman didn't seem to care that we'd had such a bad night. She did apologize, but seemed more concerned about the AC. Breakfast was okay, I guess. I'm not trying to be ugly, it was just a bad experience, and I'm still tired for another day of traveling. Can't wait to get HOME. I won't stay at another La Quinta Inn.

We paid $144 total for a stay that just got worse and worse, and I want someone at Wyndham to respond. I've written to the company and tried to reach them through X, but haven't heard a peep. We were so worried about bringing roaches home in our bag. A few months ago I stayed at a gorgeous, spotless LaQuinta in Winchester, VA, which led me to drop my Hilton membership and join Wyndham Rewards. My husband's recent stay at a spotless LaQuinta in Atlanta made the LaQuinta in LaGrange, GA an even bigger disappointment. This place was a wreck. After a long drive we checked in late, sat at the desk to eat sandwiches, and saw a cockroach run across it. I smashed it with my cell phone, scooped it into a tissue, and brought it to the front desk. It was the only thing I had, and there was just one tissue left in the box. I wish I'd taken a photo. The clerk, working 1/29/26 at 8:30 p.m., remarked about “the joys of working in a hotel” and offered another room. My husband had already showered and was ready for bed, so we stayed. Besides, if one room had a roach, why would another be different? The sink faucet wobbled like it might come off, and the bathroom door scraped the floor so tightly and loudly it was almost impossible to shut all the way. There were crumbs and other stuff on the floor, plus a cat toy in the corner of room #114, a mobility-impaired room with a hard floor. How is someone with mobility issues supposed to manage that door? How hard is it to sweep or dry mop? I have pictures and videos I'd like to share. The next morning, 1/30/26, I asked the two morning clerks whether the night clerk had noted that we'd killed a cockroach in room #114. He hadn't, so I suggested they record that, the bad faucet, and the door that wouldn't close fully, since I planned to report it to corporate. Back in the room, I was sitting on the toilet with the bathroom door halfway open when our room door opened and a man walked in. I guess he was from maintenance and had come to check the problems, but he didn't even knock. Thank goodness my husband stopped him before he saw me. Imagine if I'd been traveling alone, with a bathroom door that won't close and a man coming in without knocking.

After driving all day, we stopped to get some rest, but it wasn't the best stay. The first room's TV didn't work, and in the second the AC started making a noise loud enough to wake us. We shut it off, then woke up hot, so it was a restless night. Breakfast was good, and the night desk guy was awesome. Still, I won't stay there again.

We've stayed at LaQuinta more than once, and the service has been very good. My only complaint has been the pillows, which have been a problem every time we've stayed.
