The layout was confusing at first, and I wish they’d provide clearer maps. More tissues and toilet paper would help too, and there were a lot of empty parking spaces that could be used for free parking. On-site parking costs $20 a night, though it’s free during the day. The front desk closes at 5:30 p.m.; after that, street parking is very limited and towing starts at 8 a.m., or there’s a private lot across from the church for $25 a night. The grounds also have cats roaming around, so keep that in mind if you have allergies. Our family had a good three-night stay at the Outrigger. The suite was spacious and had a fridge, dishwasher, and TV. Each room had its own air conditioner, which kept things cool in Maui’s heat. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a strong walk-in shower and extra towels. We did run out of tissues halfway through, though. There were beach towels, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas, chairs, and other useful beach items available. The resort had tropical landscaping, pools, and lounge chairs that looked clean, but we chose the beach instead, so I can’t speak to using them.

The beds were really comfortable, soft, and I’d recommend staying here. We liked how cozy B107 felt and how quickly we could get to Front Street, about a five-minute walk away. Parking at $20 a day seemed a bit steep. The air conditioning shuts off on four-hour timers, so we had to wake up in the night to turn it back on. The shower heads could use replacing, and the bathroom gets muggy with almost no airflow. It needs a fan or some other fix, since opening all the windows didn’t help.

Aina Nalu, unit H105, is right in the heart of Historical Lahaina town, and it felt like home. The place was immaculate, spacious, and full of thoughtful personal touches from the owners. The decor was high quality and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was just a block from shops, restaurants, movie theaters, and The Lahaina Boat Harbor, all easy to reach on foot. The welcome and hospitality went way beyond what I expected. Leeann of Itrip Vacations Maui made booking easy and kept communication great. It was a lovely experience, and I’m looking forward to coming back.

We found free street parking every night, though there’s also overnight paid parking for around $20. There are excursions available on site. The grounds were mostly very quiet, and the pool was empty when we used it. We stayed Friday through Tuesday in late August. The rooms have a clean, classy Hawaiian style, and the location is excellent, about a five-minute walk, one longish block, from the main strip. I had a wonderful four-night stay with my wife and our pool-loving daughter, who’s one and a half.

The fees were the part I liked least: parking was $17.50 a night, checkout cleaning cost $175, and there’s no maid service unless you request it, which costs $60. I thought those charges were excessive. We spent ten nights here. From the outside, I worried the place looked a little old, but check-in was easy and the staff member gave us coupons for local restaurants and the nearest grocery store. They saved us quite a bit. Inside, the condo was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had a full-size fridge and freezer, stove, microwave, small dishwasher, and plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and bowls. The living room had a large TV, and there was another in the bedroom. The bedroom had a queen bed but no drawers for clothes; we used the shelves beneath the TV and the large closet instead. The bathroom was roomy and had a washer and dryer, fluffy towels, and a beautiful open stone shower. There wasn’t much counter space around the sink. Air conditioners in both the bedroom and living room kept us comfortable. The property has two pools, one fresh water and one salt water, plus a hot tub. They also invite guests to a breakfast the morning after arrival to share island information and excursion options, with a chance to win a prize. We were too tired to get up early, so we skipped it.
