It's a great hostel, run by the original owner's grandson. The ocean view from the backyard was lovely while I relaxed and swam at the nearby beach, though watch out for rocks. It's close to both the beach and downtown. When I arrived later in the evening, the staff accommodated me and left a letter on the door for people without internet. The staff were friendly, and the guests came from all over the world and had great stories.

My wife and I stayed for three nights before moving to a condo for the rest of our trip. This was a clean, nice hostel with a small range of rooms, extremely close to the beach and surfing. It sits somewhere between a BnB and a hostel. There isn't an on-site supervisor, and the kitchen rules and usage were a bit confusing. Still, we had a great stay with no problems. You just have to figure some things out for yourself.

They were really nice people. After I booked, they emailed me with details about the room, including its size and the bed size. They were honest that it might be small for a taller couple. My husband is tall and big, and I realized the room might be too small, but by then free cancellation had passed. They kindly helped cancel the reservation without a cancellation fee. Nice people!

The location is great, and Gaiten (parden my spelling, think Titan with a G), the landlord, was an awesome, hospitable host. The hostel was clean and newly renovated. The backyard has a huge deck, and a gate in the yard leads to the public beach park. There are great restaurants a five-minute walk away, and if you want to see Lahaina town, you're in luck. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else and will be back.

At first the accommodation seemed good, and we saw that quiet hours started at 10 pm. But at 1 am, three guests came back from an outing and spent the next few hours drinking in the kitchen and making enough noise to wake me and another guest. It went on until 3 am. There was no staff on site to enforce the rules, which is a first for me after many hostel stays. It's way overpriced, and I would NOT recommend it. You're much better off at an AirBnb.
