The beds were decent, but the rest of the place felt poorly maintained. Our room smelled of smoke even though we’d booked a non-smoking room, and brown water came from the bathtub at first. Breakfast was a letdown, too. We arrived at 7:40 AM to find only three slices of bread and a few bagels, with no spreads or tongs. Waffles and cereal were available, but there were no toppings, and the milk pitcher in the fridge was empty. The breakfast area felt understocked and unhygienic. It seems one person is expected to cover reception, breakfast, and other facilities, and they don’t seem able to hire enough staff. Overall, a very poor experience. I expect management will send the usual copy-paste apology, as they have on other negative reviews. An apology doesn’t excuse unsanitary conditions. Earlier feedback shows a clear pattern of neglect that hasn’t been addressed.

The staff are friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive, and they really know hospitality. It’s an older, slightly rough hotel, but the owners seem to care and are working on it as they grow. They appear to live on the property, and there are cameras everywhere for safety. The hotel is tucked off the road and has character that many newer places lack. It’s not fancy, but it’s a solid budget option. Breakfast is more than continental, with eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, toast, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, milk, and coffee available 24/7. There’s also laundry on site and a pool. Every room has a microwave, mini fridge, cold a/c, internet, and cable.

We booked through Priceline, but the first room we were shown had badly messed-up floors, and I wouldn’t go more than two steps inside. The office explained that someone in the next room had been living there and their toilet overflowed. They offered another room on the other side of the building, but it had the same problem. We declined, then were told we had to cancel through Priceline. I would NOT recommend a hotel willing to rent rooms in that condition.

The rooms need a much better cleaning job, and the place is totally disorganized. The two people running it, I think they’re a couple, seem clueless about what they’re doing and not qualified to manage a hotel. It’s sad, because the place has real potential if the owners get organized, replace the incompetent staff, and hire more experienced workers.
