Pocono Resort Conference Center - POCONO MOUNTAINS

We chose the property mainly for the pool, but it was empty, and nearly all the lights were out. The pool table shown in the photos wasn’t there, and the restaurant was closed. We waited around ten minutes in the lobby, which had no heat and was freezing. We canceled through Booking.com before even seeing a room. After two days I finally spoke with someone because Booking.com said the hotel had to approve the refund. I called to get it released and argued with the person I think was the owner, who said he wouldn’t return my money because he didn’t think I had enough reason. I explained everything, but he maintained the property looked just like the posted pictures, which was wrong, and claimed our room’s heater was “very good,” which is hard to believe. I reported the business to the attorney general and filed a complaint with the DEP because I feel it’s a scam and they have a problem issuing refunds. The photos aren’t factual or accurate. If I could give zero stars, I would. Don’t walk away, run.

After driving four hours to get here, we spent two hours in the room with the heat turned all the way up, but it never warmed. Brown water came out as well, which he said was well water. We were so put off that we asked for a refund and left. He kept saying we’d booked through a third party, which wasn’t true. We used the official page listed below, but he claimed that link was for a third party. His phone number and information were also on the charge on my husband’s account. He was clearly lying to us and refused to give us a full refund. There was no heat anywhere in the building. Don’t book here.

We arrived to find a sheet of ice in the parking lot, then waited ten minutes for someone to come to the door. They told us our reservation had been canceled without notifying us, and wouldn’t let us check into a room. We had to drive farther down the interstate to find a hotel that still had space, and thank you to Holiday Inn for being available. Maybe this worked out for the best: my daughter later found reviews mentioning possible bedbugs, mold, and structural problems, including a ceiling caving in. Find another place down the way.

We booked a room with three beds through booking.com, but the hotel said they had no room with three beds and wouldn’t refund us or provide another bed. Five of us had driven eight hours to get there, and it was already 11 p.m. We couldn’t all fit in a room with just one king-size bed. This was the worst service and experience I’ve had. I’d tell anyone reading this to stay as far away from the hotel as possible.
