We looked at two properties and spoke with several people, but got mixed information and no follow-up. They insist on a larger security deposit with no flexibility, even though our credit scores are over 800 and we have plenty of money. It's the principle of holding such a large deposit for no good reason. We applied for one place and never heard back. The operation seems poorly run.
Our Memorial Day weekend house was booked and fully paid since March, but the company canceled it with just a week to go. They said there had been a “system malfunction” and the holiday rate hadn't been set. They had more than a month to catch that, and now there are no decent houses or hotels left for us to book. If we canceled a week ahead, we'd still owe 50%, but they face no consequences. Very unprofessional. Don't trust your trip to people who cancel when they find someone willing to pay more.
VRBO wouldn't stand behind a rental in Lake Havasu, but Destination Havasu stepped in and saved the rest of our vacation. They're a great group to work with, very personable, and available whenever you have questions. I highly recommend them for vacation rentals.
When our rental fell through at the last minute, Rachael went out of her way to get us out of a bind. The property turned out to be amazing, and the price was very reasonable too.
