Lake Havasu Vacation Rentals & Sales

Twelve days after checking out of the vacation rental in great shape, I still hadn't received the full $1,030 security deposit for our three-day stay. They'd charged me a $150 cleaning fee upfront in cash, but after I chased them for days, they finally said they'd keep part of the deposit because I'd left two tied trash bags in the kitchen. I was supposed to put them in the bins, though nobody had warned me. I even drove down to meet them in person because they wanted cash for the rental. I asked what the initial cleaning fee was for, and they couldn't answer. Laura, the girl I'd dealt with throughout, passed me off to Jamie, the property owner. Jamie is an extremely rude older woman, and said she had to pay to remove the two bags. I'll wait until Labor Day weekend is over before reporting them to local agencies, but wanted to warn people. If you're thinking of renting from them, don't. Learn from my experience and from the other people who say they were robbed of their money, and stay away from these crooks. If I get my money back, I'll update this. I'll drive back and take them to small claims court if I have to.
