The Shaded Crest

Shawn and Jody greeted us when we arrived and walked us through the property and the surrounding area. The pool and hot tub space is awesome, and after a day exploring, the hot tub felt great. We loved our weekend at The Shaded Crest. We’d stayed here under the old management and already loved it, but we’re even more excited about the updates Shawn and Jody have made. Hopefully we’ll be back soon with a couple of other couples. Thanks!!

It’s so peaceful and relaxing here, the kind of place where you can slow down and reset. Sunrise with a cup of coffee and the breathtaking views were a highlight. Whether you’re outside enjoying the quiet, unwinding in the jacuzzi, or simply taking in the stillness indoors, it feels restorative. The newly renovated cabins were spotless and beautifully finished. The owners were friendly and accommodating, which made our stay at Shaded Crest even better. We’ll definitely be back.

The surrounding woods were chef’s kiss, and the fire pit and tables made a lovely spot to talk, connect, or watch the sunset. The pool and hot tub were sparkling, and the hot tub was amazing. Inside our duplex was modern and had all the amenities we needed. The rainfall shower was so relaxing, and the beds were incredibly comfy. We went to this amazing place for Valentines, met the resident kitties on arrival, and the owner was gracious and accommodating. I can’t wait to come back!!

The people around Chimney Rock really stuck with me. They’re down to earth and welcoming, and I enjoyed supporting local shops and restaurants. Christina at the Finderie told me about the Amish people who spent so much time helping rebuild the town and lift everyone’s spirits. I also had a great meal at Riverwatch and picked up gifts for my family. I came to the Shaded Crest because work and family matters had me feeling overwhelmed, and I needed a spiritual reset. I found it while searching for getaways from North Georgia, starting now. The room photos, nearby hikes and quiet, and the price all caught my eye. Jodi was informative and easy to talk to when I called, so I booked. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. I went out to it twice a day, before and after awe inspiring hikes at Chimney Rock State Park and around the Shaded Crest grounds. Jodi said to let them know when I was heading over so they could raise the hot tub temperature. That thoughtful touch warmed me up in every sense. On my last day I spent time shopping in Asheville, visited a salt cave, ate at the Bull and the Beggar, which was the best French cuisine, and saw Rumours ATL, a Fleetwood Mac cover band, at the Orange Peel. I’d recommend those too. Jodi and Shaun at the Shaded Crest are special people. I consider them friends for life and will definitely return with my family.
