The Resort at Lake of the Ozarks

We'd love to come back and spend time at the beautiful swim-up bar. The Encore was an event on its own, with great food, excellent entertainment, and a great staff. Thanks to everyone, from the sales team and front desk to housekeeping, servers, and bartenders. I was staying with a group at The Resort/The Encore property and was pleasantly surprised by the updated guest rooms. They were neat and polished. It's the closest hotel to The Strip, an easy taxi ride away, and getting back from the fun strip was very convenient.

The food at the on-site restaurant was enjoyable, though expensive. Many staff members were pleasant and professional, but one person interrupted me while I was trying to relax, made inappropriate remarks, gave me false information about my stay, and used profanity. That behavior left a bad impression. I'd welcome a conversation with the owners, since I don't think their intentions reflect that staff member's conduct or how the property is being managed. I was disappointed by the value, room, and treatment. The lobby is small and congested, with guests packed together at check-in. The exterior and parts of the interior look dated. I paid over $200 a night for a lake-view room, but the air conditioning worked poorly and left it uncomfortable. Breakfast the next morning was complimentary, but the choices were mostly apples, oranges, and cereal, which didn't fit the price. I'd suggest looking at other places to stay.

We woke up to water pouring through the ceiling from the room above, and our room was already subpar. I called the front desk and was told maintenance wouldn't arrive until later that morning. About an hour later, a kind maintenance worker knocked, apologized, took photos, and told me to go ask the front desk for a refund. The front desk apologized, but said the manager would have to handle it when she returned Monday. I called Monday and was told she was off until Tuesday. On Tuesday they said she'd call me back, but she never did. I called Wednesday and was promised a call by the end of the day, still nothing. I went by the office Thursday and was told she wasn't there. I guess they just blew me off. Never again, and I won't recommend this resort. Super sad.

Waking up to the sunrise over the water was amazing, and the food and dining area were great too. The pool was wonderful and just the right temperature. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, and the beds were so comfortable. The staff were every bit as great as the building. Melisa especially helped me get where I needed to be. This is the best place I've ever stayed, and I'll definitely return. Highly recommend.
