We ended up extending our stay by another night, and the staff helped us find a good solution again. They’d already come through for my family after a terrible first night at another hotel during Christmas week. The Best Western found us a room quickly and let us check in early, so we could move straight over. The location and room worked out perfectly. We spent our days exploring, visiting Olympic sites, skiing, skating, and sightseeing, then relaxed with coffee or hot chocolate by the lobby fireplace and Christmas tree. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and well equipped, and breakfast each morning suited the family. The staff were attentive and did a great job keeping things clean during a busy, snowy week. The hotel and rooms could use some updating, though they have rustic charm, and it’s right by town for walking around. I’d stay again, and next time I’d bring swimsuits for the pool.

The location on Main Street, right across from the Olympic Center, is hard to beat. The rooms are a good size, it’s clean, and the staff are extremely friendly. Breakfast is a good continental spread. It doesn’t have a concierge desk, bell staff, or valet parking, and it isn’t a five-star hotel, but I can’t wait to come back to the Village of Lake Placid.

We had a comfy bed and a quiet room, and the pool and gym were clean. The hotel is across from the Olympic Center, about a block from restaurants, and Mirror lake with its nice walking path is just behind the restaurant. I’d go back and highly recommend it.

The staff were nice and the place itself was nice, though the rooms could use some airing out. The pool was good. If you want the sauna, it takes an hour to heat up and is usually locked to keep kids out, so you have to get the key at the front desk. Breakfast was the usual hotel kind.

The staff were very nice, but that doesn’t make up for what we got for over $400 a night. Our room felt dated and dingy, with ceiling cracks and poor bathroom ventilation. The decks and balconies looked and felt unsafe structurally. This place badly needs major repairs and renovation.
