Days Inn by Wyndham Lake Village

We'd stay here again if we're back in the area. The room was clean, with modern, comfortable furnishings, and the staff welcomed us warmly and suggested local restaurants. You can hear the nearby highway, but that's understandable. A nice place at an affordable price.

The room was clean, but the hotel had a funky smell throughout and no elevator. There was hardly ever anyone at the front desk. Breakfast was a joke: instant oatmeal packets without bowls or silverware, gas station muffins, and coffee with no creamer. It's pretty much the only place to stay around here, and it feels like they know that, so they don't care.

We planned to stay one night, then got caught in an ice storm and ended up there for more than a week. The staff were incredible, always polite and kind. I got to know Mr. D.J. at the front desk on the night shift, since that's when my fibromalgia would kick in and I'd walk the halls. The front end ladies and gentlemen were wonderful.

When we asked whether there were any drinks for the children, we were told there weren't any. That was especially frustrating for a family. The breakfast itself was a letdown too, with instant oats and frozen muffins that seemed very low quality, even for a basic hotel. It felt poorly thought out and didn't meet our expectations.
