My travel partner left a backpack with a laptop and iPad in our room while we spent the day out on the water. We had locked the door before leaving that morning, but the bag was gone when we came back. The manager wouldn't accept responsibility for his belongings, and my buddy may have to file a claim over it. The room itself was rough too. The carpet was filthy, the walls looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while, and the shower floor was rotting. I'm not fussy about hotels, but the price for three nights was nowhere near worth it. The owners of Anchorage Inn had recently bought the place, and the office at Mallard House, where a full-time innkeeper used to live, was vacant. There were several people living in the rooms here. I hardly ever leave bad reviews since most things aren't worth the hassle. But if you want a clean room where you feel safe leaving your things, this place doesn't fit.
