Blue Spruce Motel

The value was great, and I'd gladly stay here again. I liked being able to back the car right up to the room, then walk about nine feet from the door to the bed. The hotel is older and shows some wear, but it's very clean and has really cool furniture. Other places on this trip gave us just one chair per room; here there were four, including a recliner. I'd take parking at the room over breakfast any day.

I was exhausted and my usual hotels were full, so I called Blue Spruce to ask about a ground-floor room. They had one, and it felt more like somewhere I could live than a standard hotel room. It was clean, with a soft couch and a mattress that felt new. There were also some dishes, bowls, cups, and utensils. The staff were friendly and nice, and the price was very reasonable. I'd definitely return.

The rate was the best around, even with other motels full or charging more for an event. It's an older, dated place, and you still use a physical key, but the room was clean and quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the heat and air worked. It's just an inexpensive place to sleep, and it was a good experience. I'd stay again if I'm back here.

I called earlier in the day to reserve a room for my parents, who'd stayed there before and liked the location. They took my credit card details, and I said my parents would arrive around 4:30 to 5:00 PM. Nobody mentioned that the place closes at 4:00 PM. My elderly parents got there and found it shut. They'd better not charge my card. If they do, I'll dispute it. They should have told me about the 4:00 PM closing time.
