Shiloh Inn Lamesa

The stay was stressful and badly handled, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. My husband and I had confirmed a late checkout with the front desk the day before. They said we could stay until 5:00 PM for a $30 fee, and I asked them to let me know if anything changed so I could make other plans. They assured me it was approved. The next day, while my husband was at his oilfield job with our only vehicle, the manager said the late checkout hadn't been approved and demanded that I leave right away. I explained the situation, but they called the police. My husband had to leave work to help me pack, and we were escorted out under police pressure. Basic communication could have prevented a humiliating ordeal. Breakfast was poor: powdered or fake eggs, stale biscuits, and overripe bananas that should have been thrown out. The hotel advertises as pet-friendly, but I didn't have a dog; I just noticed there's no designated, maintained pet area. The only place was a trash-filled, poorly kept wooded area behind the hotel.

I booked a smoking room by accident, but they fixed it for me. The room was great, spotless, and everything looked brand new. I usually choose a Best Western, and this room was as good as or better than most of those.

The hotel is older, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room smelled of cigarettes, though. I wish they'd make every room non-smoking, like most hotels. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean.

Great price, clean rooms, and really good customer service. We stay here whenever we're in town. We tried the Best Western once, but I'll stick with Shiloh.
