The Weathervane Motel

The room was comfortable and clean, with recent updates. The location was handy too, close enough to walk to the lake.

The room was in okay shape while I was visiting my sister in Pittsfield, though the sink drained slowly and the towel rack came off because it was attached only to the sheetrock. The woman next door woke me at 1 a.m. screaming and crying on her phone, loudly enough that I had to call the police. Management let her stay, and it happened again the next night, though she was quieter. At checkout I reported it, and they said they would speak with her. It felt like making money mattered more than guests' comfort. Meanwhile, contractors were blacktopping the drive during my stay with a portable radio blasting. I had to ask them to turn it down.

The room was clean and had everything we needed: a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, air conditioner, and wifi. The grounds were tidy, with trimmed lawn and shrubs, sturdy rustic benches outside each room, plenty of parking, and good lighting. My wife and I felt safe and comfortable, and thought it was great value. We were driving from NH to see family nearby, and it had gotten late, so we stayed here. I knew the property from living in Lanesboro as a child and remembered the owners, Raj and his wife. They were friendly, accommodating, and very nice. Thank you!

The owners are kind and accommodating. We called at 8 pm looking for a room, and they had one and were willing to check us in after midnight. My wife needed to iron her dress for a funeral the next morning, and they lent us their own ironing board, which was really thoughtful. The price is reasonable, and there are breakfast places within five minutes. We'll stay again. It's a good fit if all you need is a comfortable bed, hot shower, and clean bathroom. If you're after an Inn experience, this probably isn't the place.
