Belleair Village Motel

There were lots of people enjoying the heated pool, so this seems to be a popular spot. Our room was clean and had everything we needed for one night. We hadn’t realized it came with a kitchen, which looked nice, though we didn’t use it on this short visit. The bathroom updates stood out, especially the tile, counter, and mirror with adjustable built-in lighting. Some of the flooring also looked newer. There’s still more work to do, but the price, location, cleanliness, and pleasant staff made it a good value. Just be aware there are no elevators, as the listing says. A few things could use attention: worn window coverings let light in, the shower curtain left a gap that made it drafty, and the paid ice maker didn’t work for us.

We’ve stayed here for years, but we’re not planning another visit until things improve. The place is getting run down, and the long-term rentals seem to make it hard to upgrade the rooms.

I ended up sleeping in my cold car after all, so I wish I’d kept the $160 and done that in the first place. I’d only consider taking this review down if the owner contacts me and gives me a full refund. I spent three hours trying to sleep with a towel wrapped around my head because of the smell, then gave up. Every room smelled awful, with cigarette and drug odors coming in as soon as the door opened. After I complained, a man let me look at two other rooms. One seemed a little less bad, and I was desperate, so I took it. The windows had been left open, but when I closed them the smell built up again. The walls had blood, food, and other stains and splatters that I couldn’t identify. I also saw what looked like serious electrical fire hazards: there were no covers over the outlets behind the bed, and I’m reporting what I saw to the City. The furniture looked like it was from 1940. I got athlete’s foot on both feet after using the shower. This was an awful motel, and I feel I lost my money and regret staying. I also saw another review saying a woman’s 8 YEAR OLD child had been attacked by bed bugs. Bed bugs can get into your belongings and travel home with you. My advice anywhere is to see the room before renting it and read the reviews.

We expected a motel room and were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful apartment instead. It was the best place we’ve ever stayed. The management and staff were outstanding, and it was quiet and peaceful. Thanks for everything. I’d recommend it to family and friends.
